Pawnee State Recreation Area
This fairly large reservoir (second in area to Branched Oak in the county) attracts many migrant waterfowl during spring, and also has many prairie species.
Meadowlark Waterfowl Production Area
Habitat includes 45 wetland acres and 35 upland acres. Mostly prairie with no trees.
Saline County Easement Wildlife Management Area
This site includes 15 acres of pasture and 28 acres of timber.
Triple Creek Wildlife Management Area
Area 80 acres. Contains two intermittent streams and 16 acres of wooded habitats.
Verona Waterfowl Production Area
Habitat includes 38 acres of wetland and 122 acres of upland. Verona WPA is part of a cluster of adjoining rainwater basin wetlands known as the Verona Complex. This complex reconnected an entire upland and wetland community of adjoining wetlands including a 20 acre state WRP and over 400 acres
West Brady Wildlife Management Area
Area is 16 acres.
Wyuka Cemetery
An excellent location for migrant songbirds such as vireos and warblers, mainly along the wetter western edge.
