This site includes 42 acres of wetland and 118 acres upland. The cattle yard basin is best viewed in the evening with tough viewing in the morning sun. Satellite basins such as South Sinninger (southeast edge of WPA) and Q2 Basin (intersection of county roads Q and 2) can also be very productive. Between 1997 and 2001 this marsh supported over 6,000 spring shorebirds. Maybe the best all around basin for ease of viewing, number and variety of birds. Top numbers of Hudsonian godwit and ruddy turnstone. Also very good in the fall with area highs for willet, long-billed dowitcher, red knot and Hudsonian godwit.
