Red Willow Reservoir State Recreation Area and Wildlife Management Area

1628 acre reservoir, 4,320 acres of upland. Located 11 miles north of McCook, U.S. Highway 83. Modern camping facilities are present. This reservoir in a water-poor region attracts good numbers of migratory water birds, including many geese and ducks. Burrowing owls should be searched for in the prairie dog town near Spring Creek. Park entry permit required for the State Recreation Area.
