Area 1,187 acres. This reservoir is an excellent birding location, attracting many eastern and western migrants during spring and fall, especially warblers, vireos, and flycatchers. Wilson’s snipe have been reported to nest here (at the west end marshes), and a local population of song sparrows is the only one known for western Nebraska.
