This WMA has 2,919 acres, encompassing three lakes (Cottonwood, Steverson and Home Valley. The western end of Steverson Lake has a fen, and associated cold-climate plants that are relicts of the Pleistocene period. Other fens also occur in this headwaters area of the North Loup River. Major stop for migrating waterfowl in spring and fall.
